Deep dark amber colour, still and very hazy. A lot of oak in the aroma. A very woody flavour with some tannins in the finish. A little tart at the start but a winner all round.

A dark dry cider with a slight hint of tartness which must come from the crab apples. A very quaffable cider. - Purchased online from Scrattings of Wiveliscombe

Comes in a 750 ml screw-top bottle, with moderate sediment. Made with the addition of crab apples. Copper-coloured, with an aroma of plummy fruit, edged with a little oak. Sharp and astringent, with a little resin, the flavour is of rich, ripe fruit, carrying plum and a little fig, becoming tannic and woody in the finish. Complex and characterful, though the crab apple astringency may not be to many people's taste. I think this might go well as an evening drink with a rich fruit cake.
