Produced by :- Addlestones, Shepton Mallet Cider Mill, Kilver Street, Shepton Mallet, BA4 5ND 500ml brown glass bottle. 5%vol. Contains sulphites. “A premium golden cider, perfectly balanced, with a rich & mellow character. Made with locally sourced bittersweet English cider apples which have been fermented twice, but never filtered to give Addlestones a distinctive cloudy appearance and soft and gentle sparkle. Before serving we recommend you chill each bottle and slowly turn once before pouring.”

Draught version. Amber colour, with caramel and light woody tones. Cooked apple, with light tannins and woody tones. Drinkable and sessionable, though unexceptional.

08.08.2015 (Purchased July 2015, bottling code November 2014. ABV 5.0%) Cloudy, golden / light amber (5/5). Nose: Initially fresh, slightly sweet apples. But quickly something more cooked and yeasty takes over, even with a hint of burnt rubber (4/10). Taste: Quite fruity and rather dry, with some nice freshness (acidity). There is some bitterness here but it´s so well integrated with the freshness and the fruit that you might not even notice it as such. Medium to medium light body. Low carbonation. Long aftertaste where the fruity taste of fresh apples lingers on for a full minute and more (11/15). Surprisingly appetising and fruity cider from a big producer. The nose appears strange but the fresh and fruity taste and - not least - the long, fruity aftertaste are this cider´s best features! (17/20) Total score: 3.7/5 or 87 points.
