Sidra El Gaitero "Etiqueta Negra" Dry Cider (7% ABV, 750ml). This cider is made from 100% autochthonous [Yeah, I had to look that up, too: It means "old"] apple varieties from Asturias, like Teórica, Raxao, Perico or Regona, harvested only when they're fully ripe. Contains sulphite, but no sweeteners nor colourings.
Pours a bright, clear gold. Slightly tart but ripe yellow apples in the aroma, with some vinegar. Hints of oak. Medium body, very lively carbonation. Tart, bittersweet apples will hit you first (once you're past the "oh, that's fizzy" stage), lots of tannins, mild barnyard funk, the latter lingering into the finish. Tannic, dry and citric finish, rather acidic, while the aftertaste gets a hint of apple sweetness back into the game, also apple skins. Bu basically dry, and sour-bitter-sweet.
Another El Gaitero whose likable fruit and barnyard notes are rather hindered by the excessive carbonation. Shame. 7/10.
