I still can't decide if my favorite Gowans cider is this or the 1876, but I'm leaning towards this. It really tastes like Gravenstein apple. I tend to like sparkling, semi-sweet ciders, so naturally I like this either with food or simply lightly chilled and on its own. Plus, the 500ml is about two servings per bottle which makes it a good date night cider.

This sounds obvious, but this tastes like an apple. Like, more like an apple than pretty much any other cider I’ve had. That said, the fact that it tastes like biting into an actual apple makes me wish it were a little sweeter. It’s not bad, but not amazing.

Strong honey and melon taste. Very fresh, juicy and bright flavor. Semi-dry. Medium bodied. Moderate to heavy carbonation. Light, crisp acidity.
