For the money, you can’t beat this stuff. It’s amazingly smooth - again - for the money. Doesn’t really smell of anything - but it’s the taste that counts.
It’s fairly light on fizz - but it is there - and the colour is golden and vibrant. It’s packed with a syrupy apple kick - although the website boasts it’s made from the finest fruits from Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire. It’s medium in body and has a striking acidity that quickly and unexpectedly turns to a mellow flow. Sure, it tastes mass-produced and manufactured but for something you’ll pick up in Tesco and a corner shop, it delivers.
It tastes of apples (surprisingly enough) and that’s about it. No fancy stuff in this review with high-brow and contemplating insights of ‘ooh, there’s a hint of this and a hint of that’, none of that bollocks this time - just a decent cider for about a quid a can/bottle.
I wouldn’t kick this cider out of bed and it’s a really decent effort for the price. It’s not dry in the slightest and on the sweet side of medium. It’s better than Strongbow, Stowford Press, supermarket own brand ciders and other corner shop rivals. Serve it ice cold and you can’t go wrong really.
3/5.
