Light golden colour, with an aroma of apple skin and caramel.
Curiously lacking in flavour. The maker specifies that they use bitter-sweet cider apples, but there is little evidence of this in the actual taste.
Thin and watery. Easy to drink, but unremàrkable.
Update:- A second bottle, at a later date, was more flavourful than the first!
Dodgy batch?
The flavour is initially light, crisp fruit, before gaining astringency and a caramel tone. Lingering bitterness in the finish.
This was far more what I expected of this cider. Pleasant, drinkable, and with some depth and complexity. Not as good as Waitrose's English Vintage, but a satisfying drink.
