Barrel Roll

This bourbon barrel aged cider from a Woodinville WA winery was $10 for a 500ml bottle. The flavor was mostly bourbon, plus hints of oak, vanilla, and lemon.  I liked the bourbon flavor.  However, overall the cider was a bit harsh for my tastes, between the dryness and high ABV, and I prefer a higher flavor intensity.  I think backsweetening with honey would have been great.

This is a completely different cider than I tried two years ago. Now, its a delicious Semi sweet, but its also tart. Plus, it’s also now 9.1 % ABV rather than 6.9%, It’s listed as a cider/perry now. I love it- will definitely try it again

Chatter creek is a lovely upcoming cidery out of Woodinville. The owner has a background in wine making and is using all his experience to rapidly advance his craft. This cider is better than his forst release and in my mind already better than many on the market. A crisp taste followed by earth overtones. Refreshing.
