The aroma? Well, not much, a bit of apple peel at best.
It’s 4.5%ABV, the same as Stowford Press, made by Weston’s, like this cider for Marks & Spencer (referred to as just ‘M&S or ‘Marks and Sparks’ in the UK).
Is it a similar taste to Stowford Press? Yes, and no. It’s smoother for a start despite being make from apple juice, glucose syrup, water, sugar, carbon dioxide, then a few acids - malic, lactic and an acidity regulator.
The taste is ok - passable - nothing special, nothing bad. It has very light carbonation, it’s light in colour and is medium-sweet. You can taste the syrup and the sharpish apple juice.
If you like your sweeter cider, you’ll like this. They’re £6 for 4 cans (440ml), they’re more if you buy it at a motorway service station or in Birmingham Airport where I got mine (they were £7+).
Overall the length is pretty short with medium to light body. It’s pleasant enough with a dry aftertaste (eventually) - and it hits the spot, it just doesn’t hit a home run.
3/5 (mainly because it’s just juice and syrup).
