It’s ok. I’ve had better in France - and what a plethora of ciders there are. Diddly squat under the nose on this one (that’s slang for nothing in the UK and not to be confused with the name of Jeremy Clarkson’s farm by the same name!). It tastes ok. I wouldn’t buy it again. Unremarkable in many ways. Apple taste for sure, but nothing to hang my hat on here. Would be 2/5 but I’ve give it 3/5 purely because it’s makes a huge effort to be organic. (Am back in France in September 2025 so will try it again and review if I can).

It's all quite downplayed. The aroma, the body the balance between sweet and dry... it's all underwhelming or subtle depending on your point of view. There's a slight honey finish that elevates it for me. I won't go looking for it but am happy to drink it again.

Écusson Cidre Brut Bio (5% ABV, 750ml). Organically certified, no sugars, no colourings. Pours a deep, clear gold. Aroma of ripe apples, honey, some floral notes. Medium body, lively carbonation. On the palate, some sweetish yellow apples, moderate acidity, apple skins, some tannic bitterness into the finish, which is dry. Apple cores, tannins, dry and faint apple flavour in the aftertaste. Another "brut" cider that doesn't underplay the apple flavour, but it's less fruity than yesterday's "Les Celliers Associés Cidre Brut". 7.5/10
