Crisp Apple 4.0%ABV

This is a really decent sweet cider. It could be too sweet for some. Under the nose it has fresh green apple with a hint of vanilla and raspberries. I wouldn’t normally dive in for a sweet cider, “it’s for kids and festival goers!”, right? But this? Mass-produced as it is, is alright. It’s champagne colour and light fizz help it look fantastic in the glass and then swell around the palate. The length is medium and it does hang around longer than you’d expect where the aroma notes become the taste itself. If anything, the back end is a bit buttery - but it’s incredibly smooth and has a lighter hit of apple goodness. This cider is definitely weighing heavy in the ‘sweet’ department and to some could be ‘sickly’ but it is fairly balanced with a decent enough flavour to even get my nod of approval - in its category (I hasten to add!). It’s not like other ciders in this arena, it’s not acidic like Aspall’s or syrupy like Blackthorn - it’s medium in body and as I’ve said, for a sweet mass-produced cider this hits the spot. It’s very refreshing and smoother than the ‘crisp’ title and label would lead you to believe. 3/5.

Absolutely wonderful apple only cider from sweden. Usually I'm not a great fan of Koppaberg, as their ciders are too often mixed with strange and exotic fruits from some distant jungle, but this time they've got it right. Kopparberg Crisp Apple is stripped away from all other fruit - just apples. As always, it is super clean, crisp and refreshing. I'm going to commit sacrilege here and suggest it's best enjoyed with ice for the maximum refreshment. highly recommended
