Great nose! Earthy, farmyard notes - it’s all here and it’s lightly floral with an oak aroma. The taste is sharp - very tart and punchy. It’s lightly complex with a tangy bite rich in apple flavour. In terms of length it’s medium, direct and narrow. The flavour fills out as it goes down and it does linger - which is very pleasant and has a nice after-taste. Sipping this cider, you’ll be hit with citrus flavours, lemon zest and a tangy, delicious sweetness that’s bordering on perfect. It’s definitely a medium dry cider (and is described as such on the back label) made from a single variety dessert apple. There’s no tannin which is why I like it and it’s very light in colour, medium bodied, refreshingly fizzy and very, very nice! This is a superb effort from Pershore Press and the best of the bunch I’ve tried so far (their dry, sweet and vintage ciders). I’d therefore be keen to taste more of their ciders on offer. This is one of the best ciders I’ve had in a long time. And at 6.9%ABV yes you have to go fairly steadily, but at the same time I could easily have consumed another bottle! I had this cider on its own, no snacks or cheese and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again. Therefore I’m giving it 4/5. (I bought it from the Three Counties Farmshop, nr Claines in Worcestershire). (Formally Gwillams Farmshop up until May 2023).

Golden colour, clear with moderate heavy fizz. Single variety cider. Aroma of wood and chemicals. Fruity flavour but lacking something. Tart. Discovery is normally one of my favourite single varieties but this doesn’t cut it.
