Great Expectations

Comes in a 330ml stubby bottle. Made from Howgate Wonder, Red Pippin, Blenheim Orange, and Dabinett apples. Golden colour, with a meadow grass and hay aroma. Buttery fruit becomes dry and sharp, with a light tannic edge, and citrus peel tones in the finish. The dessert and culinary apples deliver lightness and the buttery mouth feel, whilst the Dabinetts hold it all together, bringing the tannins and depth. Drinkable and refreshing, this went well with bere oatcakes (bere is the ancient grain from which oats were developed) and a tangy Morbier cheese. Obtained from Beer Hawk, Wetherby, Yorkshire.
