For a start - leave this one in the glass and give it some time to ‘brew’. There’s a lovely whiff of dark chocolate, liquorice and a hint of burnt leather.
The taste?! Well, you could knock this stuff back all day long! On a hot summer’s day this cider would be lethal! And I can hear Jeremy Clarkson saying that about his own craft.
The taste is really smooth with a brown sugary, buttery sweetness - it’s really nice There’s little dryness here - a hint perhaps but this is a sweet cider for sure - but it’s incredibly well made with a red apple peel and golden deliciousness taste.
Cider apples from Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire. Worcestershire and Herefordshire are combined to make this bomb of a cider. And at 5%ABV it’s not rocket fuel and it won’t take your head off (or legs!)
The colour is a wholesome golden yellow with a light to medium fizz and decent length. It’s sugary, sure but it tastes great with a palate swelling encapsulating apple peel and depth that hits the mark and lingers - fizzling out with such grace and candy floss softness.
It’s complex enough to satisfy and has a medium body with a bit of a watery back end - but do you know what? I can’t help but give this 5/5 because it’s just so damn drinkable!
The sweetness builds for sure and for those who like a dry cider and nothing more, this could be one to avoid - and because it has a celebrity background and therefore a bandwagon angle - but I happen to love it. This cider feels crafted - and that’s great because although now mass-produced (to a point) - its taste really hits, delivers and satisfies. Thoroughly enjoyable. Crack me open another one!
Jeremy Clarkson, I raise my glass and salute you!
5/5.
