No aroma under the nose, but a lot of fizz if you get too close to the brim and your glass is topped up. Perhaps the faintest hint of something brown sugary. The taste is ok, it’s a cheap bottle of cider from Lidl. It’s quite syrupy with a sharp, under-developed mass-produced taste - but it’s pleasant enough for easy drinking. It doesn’t taste that dissimilar to Stowford Press (and I can’t be sure for certain that Weston’s are making this one, they probably are as they make most of the other supermarket home brands of cider). It’s dry on first sip and mellows along keeping an edge of sharpness and goes down well. It has a nice bronze hue and a fair amount of fizz. It’s medium bodied and very drinkable if you’re not too fussy about your cider. There’s nothing remarkable or distinctive about this cider. But for the money, and for a pint bottle it’s nice enough. It essentially tastes of apple juice, with fizz and not much else with a sweetness that you’d expect from a cider in this price range (I think it was £1.19 for the bottle, Aug 2023). 3/5 as it’s not terrible, but it isn’t brilliant either.

Comes in a 1 pint bottle. The packaging suggests that this is a copy of Magner's Original Apple. Pleasing copper colour, and almost odourless, with no discernible tones. Tastes a little like apple juice, but no strong flavours, and no depth or aftertaste. A little nicer than Magner's Original Apple, but bland and largely characterless.
