Mass-produced, but good. This is the best cider-in-a-can out there - and I mean that in terms of something you can buy pretty much anywhere
Hardly anything under the nose, sure - but Symond’s have done a good job in producing something that’s drinkable and reliable. There’s a hint of floral notes in the aroma with some fruitiness - but it’s mostly plain and clear
Taste wise, it’s sharp, fizzy and satisfying. The carbonation is light-medium and the colour is amber/bronze and fairly mellow, medium-bodied and medium-sweet.
There’s a sharp tartness followed by a mellow sweetness. It doesn’t have much length, it’s all fairly short on the palate but it does deliver and hit the spot.
At 6%ABV you’ll feel it after a few but otherwise I’m giving it 4/5 purely because I believe it’s one of the best - if not the best - of the you-know-what-you’re-getting-every time kind of ciders.
It’s medium-sweet cider with a hint of dryness and overall for a mass-produced cider. It’s hard to fault it.
Sure - there are greater ciders out there but in its marketplace, “what can I buy in a can?” this would be my choice every time as a safe bet (as I’ve only ever seen Aspall in a can once!).
4/5 on the basis on it being the best in it’s mass-produced-in-a-can class.
