I'd made a mistake. I missed a sign. I read the territory as reasonably safe from large predators, but I'd still set myself up on some high ground, in rocky terrain. I had seen evidence of local deer, but only in the canyons. I should have wondered why they hadn't strayed too far into the open. I found out when it came down from the skies. This cider is foolishly overlooked.
