Light gold in colour, clear and still. Aroma of apple and straw. Fresh apple with lots of wood in the flavour. Light tannins in the finish with a gentle bit of funk.

Traditional, West Country still cider. Slight vinegar in the mild aroma. The flavour is sour, with vinegar and pepper. Not my favourite cider style, though this is a good quality one. Update:- A second bottle lacked the sourness and vinegar aroma, with fruitier qualities, making me think the first was poorly kept. Amber colour, with an oaky aroma, carrying straw and funk. Woody flavour, becoming softly tannic and oaked, and with a sweet, farmyard funk in the finish. Second tasting gained an extra star and revealed a far more enjoyable and drinkable cider, with greater depth and complexity. Second bottle from Scrattings of Wiveliscombe. Tasted 7 Aug 2019.
