Pours a clear dark straw to bright golden, gentle carbonation, small frequent bubbles; on the nose funky, complex and bold, stewed apples, wet orchard floor and Bretty notes of leather and horseblanket; on the palate dry and astringent, oodles of cooked apples with a kiss of residual sweetness, gentle acidity balances medium, bitter dryness, lemon zest and citrus notes in the background, raspy carbonation clears palate and lifts Bretty notes; medium-bodied with light green apple acidity, bold and grippy tannins and juicy sweetness - overall best described as fanatic French cidre

Comes in a 750 ml champagne bottle, with light sediment in the bottle. Cloudy, golden colour, with an aroma combining oak with a little smoke and farmyard funk. Fruity flavour, with atouch of caramel, becoming funky and tannic in the aftertaste, and lots of oak in the finish. Nicely complex, though a little overgassed for my taste, but not excessively so. Drinkable, and nice with a nutty Red Leicester cheese.

750ml wired cork bottle from Scrattings. 5.5%. Sparkling golden colour, fizzy white foam head that quickly dissipates away and aroma of fruity apple, some mucky funk. Taste is sweetish, tart fleshy apple, leathery funk, woody oak barrel, citric with drying tannins. Light to medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, dry tangy tannic finish. Nicely drinkable.
