Wignac "Le Goupil" Cidre Rosé (4.5%, 750ml). This cider is fermented from 88% apple juice and 12% red grape juice. The colour is deep, clear dark red/copper, with a tiny pale-ish pink head. In the aroma, you first get red grapes, red currant, some herbs - and only then slightly musty apples. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation. Likewise, the palate opens with red grapes, more like a rosé spritzer, followed by slightly tart apples. Very little vinegar, and muted sweetness. Further on, grape skins, floral notes, with a medium bitterness from tannins in the finish. Aftertaste is a ix of red grapes, mild bitterness, and apple skins. Interesting to see how the 12% red grape juice mostly dominates the flavour. Nice drink, but not really what I want from a cider. 7/10.
