I didn't see it coming. I heard a sudden heavy beat of wings, felt the dusty air strike me hard from behind, causing me to stumble. I heard the shocked scream of my horse, left tied to some scrub bush to graze. By the time I'd steadied myself and turned around, my horse was dead, the drake having torn its throat out. We stared at each other. It didn't want to give up its kill, a meal that would sustain it for at least a month, but it would defend itself if necessary. I had nothing to gain from a fight; the horse would be dead either way, and I'd already unloaded the saddlebags. So I did nothing, and the beast took my horse into the sky, back to its lair, leaving me stranded in the badlands. This cider is a noble beast, wild and uncompromising.

Imported by French Cider Inc. of Seattle WA. Described as a demi-sec cider with secondary fermentation in the bottle. On the sweeter side of semi-dry. Low funk and no sourness, which is great to see for a Normandy cidre. Notes of ripe apples, pomace, orange, caramel, and leather. Retails for $19.99 / 750ml bottle. I loved the texture on this one, very fluffy! However, I think a better value can be had, as I've sampled many similar ciders which cost less.

This is a French cider which comes in a bottle similar to sparkling white wine ( AKA Champagne) has a nice fruit taste and a nice balance between seeetness, astringency and bitter. For those who do not like a lot of carbonation in their cider I do not recommend this. As I started to open it the cork popped off the bottle. I really enjoyed the bubbles:) especially since I was in the UK where many of the ciders had low carbonation.
