Lovely ‘classic’ aroma - wood, leather and oak - earth and a hint of sweet farmyard funk. What a delight. What a cider so far. Let’s see how it tastes!….
Doesn’t disappoint. It’s a medium dry but is on the drier side. Apples galore await your taste buds! Astringent, sure - but worth it as the palate engulfs a swath of apple peel and full body. This cider is pretty short on length but has enough water in the mix to kick it on and linger so just about long enough.
The colour is a lovely golden hue with light-ish carbonation that really hits the spot. The flavour really packs an apple farmyard punch - but lacks a bit of complexity - and not much else, just an tidal wave of apple fullness.
This cider is raw, to the point and ‘no nonsense’. It’ll satisfy the classic cider drinker and slightly frustrate the enthusiast.
It’s. 6%ABV in a 750ml bottle and although this cost me £7.20 it was clearly marked up to make a profit for the farm shop - which is fair enough - and I’m happy to support my local farms and farm shops.
4/5. With a bit more, it’d been a 5/5 for sure. Very, very nice though if you love your full on apple ciders.
