Toffee Apple

It definitely tries something original, and doesn't fall flat on its face doing it so props for that. But it doesn't quite hit the mark either. Definitely serve with lots of ice.

Sweet and nice. Clear taste of toffee on this one. Feels like a ready made drink. Can only drink one.

If you think of cider as an industrial product, this one has it all: water, fermented apple juice, caramel flavour and colouring, citric acid. Looking at some cider blogs and boards, I'm getting the impression that few people seem to care whether their cider is a natural product or a manufactured alcopop. Anyway, here it is: Brothers Toffee Apple (4% ABV, 500ml). Clear bronze colour with a minimal head. Unsurprisingly, this has a caramelized ripe apple flavour, with some weak lemon in the background. I may be wrong, but I think I can even smell the water. Medium body, fairly high carbonation. First taste hits you with sugar, caramelized apple and a heftier dose of that citric acid. Some bitter burnt sugar note later on. Still very citric. Finale is sour, lemony, before the sugary caramel hits you again in the aftertaste. Another "cider" that needs to be consumed well chilled, because the sugar can only get more intense once it warms up. I won't risk that. If you're fine with a cider that's pretty much a "designed" party drink, then well: You do get a toffee apple flavour. 4.5/10.

Not something I would normally go for but curiosity got the better of me. Very sweet soda smooth taste and an initial smell of apple crumble. Definite taste of toffee apple which goes well but its not for me. Glad I tried it and it wasn't bad but it's not something I'd have again.

wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. Quite sweet, but very tasty. actually does taste like the toffee apples of old. Could happily drink it all day.

A very sweet tasting drink without being too sickly or overly acidic. This is an easy drinking alternative to regular ciders, with a soda pop taste its surprising that it wasn't overbearing with it's pleasant sweet taste. I highly recommend it.

A very delicious, different cider. I love it! very sweet and the toffee flavouring isn't a nasty artificial taste either! tastes genuinely of toffee apple and is a nice change to plain apple cider.

Strong toffee aroma; seemingly quite natural. The flavour, too, is a convincing toffee apple, though with a touch of bittersweet apple and pear in the aftertaste, which prevents this sweet cider becoming sickly or cloying. I quite enjoyed this as a change of style, and I can imagine drinking this at Halloween or on Bonfire Night.
