I didn't find this overly bitter, but it was very odd. Thin mouthfeel, and tasted flat and almost metallic. The tannins felt like they left a film on your teeth, not really drying the mouth like usual. It smelled nice and rich, but that didn't transfer to the flavor. This was farmhouse-style, as advertised, with some mild sourness and moderate funk/barnyard. Notes of caramel, orange, and leather. The sourness got more prevalent as I drank more / as it warmed up. Couldn't finish it, unfortunately (as its $14 / 750ml).
