Domaine de la Flaguerie "Vergers de Ducy Demi-Sec" (4.5% ABV, 750ml). Cider made at the family cidery in Normandy since 1835 from organically cultivated regional apples. A blend of bitter, bitter-sweet, sweet and slightly acidic apple varieties, all from the company's own orchards. No additives other than sulphite. %0d%0aPours a very mildly hazy bright gold. Plenty of farmyard funk in the aroma (hay, dung), along with dusty yellow apples, pears, yeast. Medium body, moderate carbonation. On the palate, again, a vivid mix of barnyard funk and ripe, slightly tart, dusty yellow apples, with a fair bit of yeast, then apple cores, more ripe apples, with medium tannic notes and an aftertaste of sweetish ripe apples, more yeast. Feels like a real farmhouse French cider with character. Excellent! 9/10
