cornish orchard vintage cider 2023

(2023 vintage). Not much aroma but a citrus, zesty earthiness is there. It’s punchy in some ways for sure. The citrus kicks in with the taste, lemon, lime and sharp acidic apple bite and earthy tang on the back end. It’s bright golden in colour, looking like a champagne in the glass with medium fizz. It’s matured longer than Cornish Orchards’ ‘gold’ cider and it shows - it’s stronger too, and you can tell. This packs in at 7.2% ABV leaving a session on this cider highly questionable. This cider is short in length with a light to medium body. It’s medium for sure as there’s a dryness but it lacks complexity and deep taste (despite saying on the bottle that it’s matured for more flavour) - but it’s just not there. If anything it’s a tad syrupy. Disappointing. But it’s not terrible either, just hoped for more. 3/5.
