Golden Cider

Clear lightt gold in colour, light fizz. On the nose, it is fairly bland small amout of fruity aromas. Fairly crisp refreshing cider. Starts dry but soon becomes sweeter. Very refreshing drink not much to pick up. Bought a pint of this at a golf club. Would personally choose this over the other well know "gold" cider.

Cornish Orchards Golden Cider is one of my favourites - and has been for a while now. For me it’s one of best all-rounders - it’s medium dry, has a big of sweetness to it - it’s tart, it has a bite and has good length. The taste is sharp which swiftly moves to smooth which is where the dryness kicks in. The taste doesn’t have much going on and isn’t complex at all. The medium fizz adds to this giving this cider a rounded and very well-balanced ‘glow’ in your mouth. There’s a hint of syrup, but this is more than likely due to the scale of which this cider is now produced. It’s golden in colour - exactly what it says on the label - and at 5%ABV isn’t going to see you legless after a few bottles (or pints if you can find this gem on tap!). The nose is light with a hint of fruit but that’s made up for in the taste - this is one of the best out there for its price and in the ‘mass-produced’ category. This cider really delivers - and has it all, dryness, sweetness, great taste and a good price too (currently £1.80 a bottle in Sainsbury’s (Aug ‘22)). One of my favourites so 4/5 for me, others may disagree, but that’s what reviews are all about. (Revised June 2023).

Golden colour, clear with moderate light fizz. Light fresh apple aroma. Apple peel flavour. Crisp and drinkable but nothing to excite.
