Amber coloured, very lively fizz and slightly hazy. Picked up from Ventons at the Exeter xmas market. It’s always good to speak to the makers. The timeline for this cider was: 2012 – Pressed on our twin screw oak press through barley straw. 2012 – 2013 – Wild yeast fermentation & settling 1 year in Oak. 2013 – 2014 – Racked & matured 1 year in Oak. 2014 – 2016 – 1st in-bottle fermentation 2 years. 2016 – 2018 – 2nd in-bottle fermentation 2 years. 2018 – 2021 – Matured in-bottle 3 years. Despite the label saying 6.5% they assure me (and is repeated on their website) that it is 7%. Aroma has spice and oak. Spicy flavour with wood and tannins in the finish. Soft & light mouthfeel with the bubbles. Thankfully it calms down after a while but still a bit much for me.
