Ciderkin

The nose has some apple and the pour is a pretty pale gold with some effervescence. The taste is uninteresting. The finish is slightly tart but mostly sour. I attribute it to a lager yeast as it reminds me of watered beer. It’s not very exciting.

Drinks almost more like a dry bubbly wine. Lovely tart thing going on. Purchased at Crafty Beer Guys in Huntersville.

Definitely tart, not much else. Good on the porch.

Bought in Seattle WA area but apparently distribution still limited mostly to TX. Runs about $10 for six pack of 12oz bottles. Argus Fermentables is a new line from Argus Cidery, with six packs instead of 750ml bottles. Traditional dry sparkling cider. Ciderkin is a traditional term to describe cidermaking by fermenting reconstituted apple pomace (pulp remaining after crushing apples). As the pulp is diluted, the alcohol content is significantly reduced. Dry, but easy to drink as there is very little acidity, bitterness, or tannins (great for an intro to dry ciders). Refreshing, clean, crisp, smooth, light, & citrusy. Quick finish but some lingering (pleasant) aftertaste. Has a bit of an earthy funk. I pick up some pear and a hint of vanilla. There is only a slight tartness. I'm a fan of sparking ciders! Unique but not bold. Overall good but kinda unmemorable.

I like this cider. Light, tart, nice with a hearty burger. A semi drynthat isn’t bitter. Had it on draught at Phinney Market.

Flat flavor, with a slight sulfur smell

Clear golden pour with a small white head. Nice tart apple aroma and flavor. Slightly lemony flavor that comes through in the tart finish.
