Golden colour, clear with moderate fizz. Light apple peel aroma. Ripe apple flavour with a little caramel. Quite smooth but lacking.

(Tasted on October 6, 2023) Henney's England's Pride Medium Cider (6% ABV, 500ml). Another cider from Herefordshire, this one being made from Dabinett, Ashton Bitter, Tremletts Bitter, Yarlington Mill and Michelin apples. Clear golden yellow colour. Tart and ripe apples, German Federweisser notes in the nose. Mild to medium carbonation. A hint of caramel and vinegar in the background. Pronounced sweetish apply fruitiness at first, balanced by some lemon and caramel. medium body. Tannins (apple skin) and vinegar come in as tasting proceeds. Moderately dry and tannic finish, very dry aftertaste with some vinegar and green apples. It seemed almost "too" sweet at first, but turns out to be very well-balanced. Not quite up there with yesterday's "Celtic Marshes AM Medium" on account of the latter's fuller body, but close. The label suggests it's made from 100% freshly-pressed apple juice, and beyond the obligatory sulphites it contains no flavours or other additives. 8/10.
