Galtres Gold Pear

Golden colour, moderate light haziness and still. Aroma is wood and spice. Flavour is pear drops and wood with some minerals in the background. Smooth and buttery.

Comes in a 750 ml screw-top bottle. Pale golden, with a resinous aroma, similar to fresh cut pine wood. Initially buttery fruit flavour, becoming very astringent, with a woody edge, and a little skin and some funk in the finish. Complex and challenging perry, which will not be to everyone's taste, but I quite enjoyed this, both for its individuality and the taste profile, which makes this an ideal companion to a nutty Cheddar or a vintage Red Leicester.
