Plum & Ginger

Had this with some spicy Indian food and it was an excellent match. The cider has a nice level of carbonation and some acid that paired well with the food. The nose has plums and you pick up the spicy ginger at the end but overall, I still picked up on the underlying apple. I usually have one cider with dinner but the food and this cider made me order a second. However, since it’s only 4% ABV, having two was like having one of my higher ABV ciders. I really enjoyed this one and so did my wife when she tried it. I’ve been toying with a ginger cider and after this one, I’m going to pitch a batch once I return home.

Pale, muted copper colour, with an earthy aroma, combining funk and fresh ginger. The initial flavour is of just ripe plum with a tannic edge, developing into a freshly-grated ginger aftertaste. Nice complexity for a fruited cider. The flavours are well-balanced and fresh, and allows a hint of the underlying cider. I really enjoyed this!

Plums,fruity and taste of ginger

Absolutely wonderful cider, I'm not usually a fan of different fruit ciders, but this is an exception. More ginger than plum, but none of the flavours are overpowering and the aroma is delicious. Not too fizzy, with just the right amount of body to make this a drink that stands out from the crowd and at only 4% a cider that could be drunk all day. Well done Garden Cider Company 👍
