Wolf in the woods

As soon as I saw the broken down wagon on the road ahead, I knew it was an ambush. I was rear guard, so we were already too close by the time I made out what was happening. They'd made it look like a slipped wheel, with several of them standing around the wagon, partially blocking the road, forcing us to slow down to go around them. I was shouting a warning and drawing my sword as the bandits all pulled out crossbows. This cider is violence seen too late. It is a patient wolf.
