Cornish Scrumpy

Upon a recent stay at the Jamaica inn in Cornwall my wife found this little 250ml rocket displayed in a traditional scrumpy glass bottle. When un-screwing this bottle you're greeted with a strong pungent mature aroma. This scrumpy is still, with a real astringency. I get a matured apple flavour, even a brandy warming effect which certainly is different but quite enjoyable. This is a strong Cornish farm cyder and even the small quantity of this bottle certainly leaves a lasting impression!

Cider comes in a lovely 1litre flagon glass bottle. A clear amber colour, this cider is inoffensive as it has no strong flavours, the mild fruity smells and flavours are pleasent which become slightly stronger as the glass warms up. Probably a good gateway cider if you're used to more commercial ciders made from chemicals rather than apples.

Light amber colour, clear and still. A little wood in the aroma. Caramel and oak in the flavour.
