Rare Apple Series - Winesap

This is a delicious cider with a nose of tart apple, made from 100% Stayman Winesap apples. The flavor follows the nose. A delicious tart apple flavor on the palate with moderate to heavy carbonation. The finish is tannic and a little bitter which makes for a wonderfully complex cider.

From Stormalong’s Rare Apple series of 2020. Made entirely from Winesap apples. Bright, tart, and dry, lightly carbonated.

This would be a great daily drinker. Medium fruit aroma, a distinct early tartness and clean apple taste in this medium carbonated cider. The initial tartness gives way to a finish with just a little more bitterness from the tannins that lingers pleasingly on the tongue. This is the epitome of what a classic cider should be.

Clear straw colored pour with moderate to heavy carbonation. Moderate juicy apple aroma. Very nice moderate to strong apple taste that is crisp, tart and tannic. Light bitterness. Moderate acidity. Light bodied.
