Waterloo Sunset

Clear, yellow, pleasant medium dry perry. Landlord Mark Bates told me a lot of his customers find it too dry for a perry but it was quite acceptable to me. Mine was 6.5%, not 7.3%: it's notable that whenever a beer or cider's gravity is changed it's always a reduction!

Watery lime colour, clear and still. Slightly woody aroma. Flavour has apricot and brandy.

Pale yellow, with an aroma which mixes cooked pear, and woody pear skin, and an edge of funk. Funky pear flavour, carrying a little apricot, with a metallic aftertaste. The flavour never quite develops, and lacks depth; feels like this should have matured longer, perhaps with some oak. However, it is drinkable, and may appeal to others.
