Browns

My first impression of this cider was a lot of farmyard funk on the nose. This relatively sharp and sweet cider compared to many in the dunkertons range has a brilliant argument of flavours for a single variety cider. This is my favourite single variety cider I've tried to date.

The pour is a clear gold with light carbonation (still). The aroma is sweet apple. The taste is a sweet apple with some tartness (almost juice). The mouthfeel is full bodied. There is not much astringency or bitterness. It has a little acid in the finish but is mostly sweet apple. A little sweet for me.

This single variety browns cider from Dunkertons for me is exceptional. It's mature browns apple is naturally sharp and sweet with a deep flavour of astringent skins, it's 7.5% abv makes this warming effect a welcomed feature. Soft tannins create a puckering dry effect on the pallet providing structure and texture. The pour is straw coloured with a slight cloudiness and a mild carbonation. This is up there with one of my favourites, 5 star, love it.

Single varietal from the venerable Brown's cider apple. Pale golden colour, with a light aroma of crisp fruit, and carrying herbal tones. Sharp, astringent initially, giving way to a mellower, slightly honeyed flavour, with a hint of citrus rind bitterness in the aftertaste. Unusual flavours, giving depth and distinctiveness. Obtained direct from Dunkerton's.

Light gold with a slight haziness and fizz. Single variety cider. Aroma is of fresh apple with citrus. It has an initial bite that becomes smooth. There’s a background taste of honey and a little funk.

A lovely winter warmer. It's got nice, slightly hazey honey yellow taste and colour. It's on the sweet side, which I like. It's got a kick, at 7.5% and is just perfect this December night. This is mature cider with bags of character, more than capable of holding it's own with the best.
