Pale yellow, with a sweet pear drop aroma, overlying strong funk.
The initial flavour is of sweet, ripe pear, but this gives way to a drier edge, and a rich aftertaste with moderate funk and a woody edge.
Pleasant, drinkable perry, with some complexity, and a traditional feel.
Obtained direct from Dunkertons.
This just launched in the U.S., $9 for 500ml. Its a true perry (no apples, and its even made from perry pears). Notes of citrus (lemon and grapefruit), mineral, white grape, pear, and floral. Nice complexity and well crafted. I don't like sourness though.
