Loadsa fruit aroma around ‘ere, Guv’nah! Oak and apple peel, it’s just lovely. The taste? It says medium dry but it’s definitely on the drier side which is why I love it! This cider also has a lovely astringency which is really well balance and honed. It’s full, punchy and engulfs the mouth like a crashing wave onto a beach. Any tartness on first sip becomes silky and smooth - almost immediately - and the length is decent and wholesome with light tannins and a nigh on perfect apple aftertaste that delivers and stays on. There’s light fizz which adds to the complexity of the taste experience to this gorgeous bronze cider. I’ve realised the owner lives in my postcode a few hundred metres away but this has by no means swayed me in my review. This is the best, so far cider in Worcestershire I’ve ever tasted - apart from my own! But now I can’t wait to try some of the other ciders in the Barbourne Cider Company’s selection. It’s so nice to hit on a 5/5 cider and I just knew the moment I smelt the aroma and had a first taste. I thought bang, yes, this is a five. For me, this really is something special and at 6.0%ABV you could rack me up another. As I’ve alsways said, Worcestershire as a county isn’t to be bullied by its neighbouring cider king of Herefordshire as there are some real gems out there - and boy, I’ve just found one. Superb. 5/5.
