Dead & Berried

Deep reddish-purple, with a strong, natural, berry aroma. Almost overwhelming, natural berry flavours, with blueberry the more obvious. Relatively unsweetened, allowing the tart edge of the blueberries and raspberries to come through. Really punchy flavour.

Lack of choice at a festival forced me to try what I already knew I didn't like...Non apple cider. This has all the trappings of a soft drink with alcohol. When did we stop calling them alchohpops? I had a single mouth full and could go no further. Hawkes can be proud of their invention....but it's not for me. Apples only for this fella!

Clear ruby-red/dark berry colored pour with moderate carbonation. Strong berry aroma. Taste follows the nose with a strong, and moderately tart, dark berry flavor.

Nice berry color and aroma hit you from start and it follows through in the flavor. No really acid or bitters but did you expect any? I didn’t. My wife really liked it and she enjoys acidic fruit flavored ciders with some (but not too much sweetness). I have to agree that this was enjoyable as we sat and had a pizza at Hawkes Cidery on Druid Street in London.

Not as sweet as I was expecting but good with dinner. The only confusing part was that mine came in a can and specified that it was from Hawkes in Columbus Ohio?
