Aspall Premier Cru Cyder (6.8% ABV, 500ml). Only contains sulphite, no sweeteners nor colouring. Colour is pale clear yellow, Sauvignon Blanc-like. Aroma of green, tart apples, light acidity, unripe peach. Medium body, soft carbonation. Sourish, lemony apples, dry wine grapes, a modicum of sweetness following. Champagne yeast notes. Stronger acidity in the finish, with dry wine flavour. Greenish, sour apples and yeast in the aftertaste.
I wonder why Aspall makes many different ciders that are really very similar in style. All dry, all sourish, all winey. The most distinguishing element here is the higher ABV, which delivers a slightly more rounded flavour and more "weight". 7/10
