Whisky Cask

Lilley's Whisky Cask (6% ABV, 500ml). Still cider matured in used bourbon casks, by Lilley's of Somerset (a fairly new cidery established in 2007). Made from fresh Somerset apples, no sweeteners o colourings. Clear, bright golden colour. Aroma: Boozy apple flavour, honey, but no tannins from the oak. Medium body, no carbonation whatsoever. Mouldy, boozy apples on the palate, again honey, oak, but no bitterness at first, and very mild bitterness only in the finish. Bit of farmyard there, too, but ultra smooth. Aftertaste same as main notes. Not a huge fan of still ciders, but the boozy apples are appealing enough. Still think I like Thistly Cross Whisky Cask more. 7/10.
