Golden amber, mild fizz and hazy. Ripe apple aroma with plenty of caramel. Rich deep oak flavour and funky taste.

500ml bottle from Perry's. Pours a golden colour with a white foam head that dissipates away. Aroma of tangy apple, light woody funk, some caramel. The taste is fruity apple, apple skins, barnyard notes, leather, earthy, oak, alittle caramel, bittersweet with drying tannins. Medium bodied, soft medium carbonation, the finish is dry and tannic. Nicely drinkable cider.

Perry's Barn Owl (5.5% ABV, 500ml). This is not a single variety cider, unlike the other ones from Perry's I've tried before. All fresh pressed fruit from unspecified bittersweet and bitter sharp apple varieties, no sweeteners, no colourings. Explicitly says "farmhouse cider", made with wild yeasts. Pale yellow colour, hazy. Farmhouse funk in the aroma, indeed. Musty yellow apples behind it, some lemon, maybe a whiff of vanilla. Medium body, low carbonation. 50/50 mildly tart, also slightly musty yellow apples and barnyard funk on the palate at first, with the farmhouse lingering on, you can almost get the "used" hay. Dry and moderately bitter, tannic finish, with apple skins, more barnyard, yeast and faintly sweet apples in the aftertaste. Well, this *is* a farmhouse cider, unfiltered and rough around the edges, but beautifully balanced because of the fruit notes. Good one. 8/10.

Cloudy golden colour. Very light carbonation. Slight funk hint of sweetness/caramel aroma. Sweet initial flavour with undertones of oakness with a tint of dry tanic flavours at the end. I would say this was a medium cider rather than a medium dry. Very pleasant cider. Was given to me as a present bought through the Bristol cider shop.

Single-batch, unfiltered cider, light amber in colour. The aroma is sharp, with light fruit and caramel tones, and a little funk. The taste is initially of toffee apple and spice, with a tannic aftertaste developing from a light oak. Very drinkable.

Slightly cloudy with a rich fruity flavour. A little funky with an initial medium-dry nature but finishes with a sweet linger.
