Original Blend

Copper coloured, moderate light fizz and clear. Aroma of hay and funk. Flavour is rich and has oak with a little caramel. Soft and smooth.

This is the original Gwatkin blend, first produced in 1991, and setting the benchmark and hallmark of all that followed. Deep copper colour, with the characteristic Gwatkin aroma of straw, oak, and farmyard funk. Rich leather and farmyard flavour, with soft tannins, and a fulsome aged oak finish, carrying just a hint of smoke. I love this kind of rich, complex, pungent, characterful cider, which makes Gwatkin one of my favourite producers.
