Red Diesel

Got a half at a cider festival. Regretted it after one sip, gave it to my girlfriend even she didn't like it and she likes sweet cider. Tasted like cough syrup. Don't get me wrong massive Improvement compared to ciderpops but WAY TOO SWEET for me. I prefer dry ciders so probably no fair for me to review this..

Mid-red colour, with an aroma of strawberry jam, overlying a rich, oaked cider. Strawberry flavour quickly gives way to a tannic, oak aftertaste. The contrast of sweet strawberry and tannic cider make this drinkable, and stops it being sickly. Strawberry is not my favourite cider flavour, but this is better than most, for letting the cider come through. Still, the cider alone, without the strawberries, would likely have been far better.
