At 15% this should be drunk in small quantities hence the specific glasses (ref my attached photo) Poured over one ice cube this dark amber ice cider is fantastic, an initial sweet apple/dryed fruit taste followed by a strong warming dry aftertaste. This really is a nice little treat.

A nice ice cider, but only to be consumed in small quantities. Perhaps with a very mature West Country cheese. Key Apple Varieties. Tremlett's Bitter, Yarlington Mill & Black Dabinett. Tasted at Sandford Orchards, Crediton.

Dark amber colour, light haziness and still. Aroma of dried fruit. Flavour has raisins and wood. A sherry feel but drier and more bitter than any other ice cider I’ve had previously. Burnt apple and tannic finish. As an aside and irrelevant to this review: Following my initial tasting I added a couple of glugs of Somerset Cider Brandy’s Kingston Black Aperitif to this ice cider and would highly recommend trying it.

Comes in a tall, slender-necked, 500 ml, corked bottle. Intense, dark bronze colour, with a raisin and wood aroma. Smooth, sherry-like flavour, quickly becomes dry on the palate, and develops a somewhat bitter, apple-skin aftertaste, with dark tannins in the finish. Very different from other ice ciders I have tasted, especially in the dryness, and bitter aftertaste. More of an aperitif, or a cocktail base, than others, too. Not entirely to my taste.
