Orange colour, pretty hazy and light carbonation. Aroma is smokey as suggested on the label. A lot of smoke in the flavour but also little hints of citrus. Astringent and tannic finish.

Special, and limited, edition, made to celebrate an exceptional apple crop in the 2014 season, and aged for 4 years. Cloudy, caramel-brown, with an aroma of wood smoke and a light, earthy funk. Sharp apple juice flavour, rapidly becomes tart and tannic, before finishing in strong peat smoke. Quite extraordinary character and depth, and with a flavour profile more commonly associated with a West Coast or Islay malt! Would be a worthy companion to an Isle of Mull Cheddar, or a Lancashire from the Fylde marshes; sadly, I had neither to hand ...
