Vintage 2022

What is it with Thatcher’s? I just don’t like any of their stuff - except for the Katy single variety. Under the nose there’s a bit of citrus zest. Taste?! So sweet! Like so many other Thatcher’s ciders this is thin and pretty tasteless. This tastes like Thatcher’s Gold added to Thatcher’s Haze, with the cloudiness removed. I noticed that Judge (on Cider Expert) gave this 1/5 and tipped most of it down the sink! I E always respected Judge’s reviews - so if he says it’s bad, you can pretty much guarantee that it will be. I’ve given it 2/5. It’s pretty bland, pretty fizz and pretty in colour - but that’s about it. It’s light and golden and frothy at the top. The taste is sharp and acidic. Like a punchy real lemonade. At 8.3%ABV which is higher than previous years of this vintage, I’d have expected much more. Overall, here’s yet another Thatcher’s cider that’s getting a wide berth from me.

Light golden colour, pretty fizzy with an effervescent pour and clear. Aroma is very chemically and a little sweet. Processed apple flavour. Not really getting on with this. I initially scored this 2 stars bit given the fact I’ve just tipped a third of down the sink I’ve downgraded to 1 star.

Clear golden colour. Heavy carbonation as all Thatcher's ciders have. Strong oaky notes with caramel on the nose. Initially, oaky, bitter flavour which get booted away by a clawing sweetness. This pint does get less pleasent as you progress through it, which is just the wrong way around.. It's not awful, and better than the 2022 variety. But I've had much better. Bought ina supermarket.

It's got that artificial apple taste so "Thatchers" with a slight burnt edge to it. I agree with young Skywalker, the Judge is usually always bang on the button. As I only bought one bottle I am going to stick with a two star review. It's drinkable, it's got a decent kick (8.3%) and I couldn't pour cider down the sink....I'd stick it in a cupboard and try it again in a year or two.
