A bit of old leather and some oak is all I’m getting from the aroma. But this cider makes up for it in taste as there’s a fair bit going on with it’s medium bodied structure. It’s acidic for sure - but is down the middle I terms of the palate with a lack of width but enough punch to hit home. The length is medium to long with a nice sweet aftertaste (although this cider has some dryness for sure). It fills the palate and leaves a lingering apple bitterness in the aftertaste with a deep engulf of apple peel (it’s lovely) - with plenty of dryness, egging you on for another sip. It’s dark bronze in colour and with enough fizz to say hello and for you to know it’s there. At 7.4%ABV you couldn’t sink too many, that’s for sure but it very drinkable nonetheless. It’s not the most sophisticated cider I’ve ever had but it does deliver - although I’ve had better elsewhere. I do tend to lean toward Somerset ciders (despite living in Worcestershire and having a soft spot for neighbouring Herefordshire). Would have to look back on my reviews of other years with this cider but I would buy it again. 4/5.
