Sheppy's Craft Perry (7.4% ABV, 500ml). Crafted from 5 different varieties of cider perry, and aged for 6 months. No additives other than sulphite. I'm usually not a big fan of perries, let's try this one. Bright, clear yellow golden colour, no head. Sweetish and floral aroma of ripe pears, honey melon, and white grapes. Light to medium body, very low carbonation. White grapes, semi-dry, dominate the palate at first, then some pears, pear skins in the middle, stronger tannins in the finish. Short aftertaste of faint pears, floral notes, lingering tannic bitterness on the tongue. The high ABV is almost unnoticeable. Rather simple and light pear cider, and not much in the way of pear taste either. Mild bitterness toward the end is pleasant, but this one won't stick and won't change my mind. 6/10.

Golden colour, clear with moderate fizz but drinks less than the pour. Made from five pear varieties but only names Blakeney Red, Hendre Huffcap & Red Pear. Light ripe pear aroma. Fruity with a little wood. Not exciting but very drinkable.

Staw clear colour, light carbonation. Small amount of funk on the nose, infused with the sweet aroma of pears. Sweet intial taste, followed by a warm alcohol hit. The pear flavours are light and clean. Not a great deal of aftertaste. Pleasent perry probably a good alternative to white wine. Bought at Sheppy's near Taunton, Somerset.
