Single varietal from the Northern Spy apple; comes in a 375 ml long-neck, draw-cork bottle.
Deep, rich, reddish-brown colour, with a strong, sherry-like aroma, tinged with ripe cherry.
Smooth, syrupy, with a sherry-like mouth feel, becoming tart and slightly bitter with rich tannins, before developing an intense pomace flavour. Tones of chocolate and cherry are hinted.
A bit too sweet for my palate, but interesting, complex flavours, nicely-balanced by the oak, make this worth trying.
